Bilal Hashmi is an active member of pro-palestinian groups operating on campuses and in other locations across Philadelphia, and has been a regular attendee at protests associated with Students for Justice in Palestine at the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University campuses. He is often seen leading chants that call for violence against Jews and their ethnic cleansing from Israel, chanting for “intifada” and “from the river to the sea”., slogans made popular by US designated terrorist organization Hamas.

Aligning Himself With Terrorist

 In addition to this, he has been photographed multiple times displaying the “inverted triangle” that has become associated with Hamas since October 7th 2023, with the symbol being used in their propaganda videos to indicate their targets for violence. This symbol can be considered an endorsement of terrorism and incitement to violence.  

Takes Part in Antisemitism

Bilal Hashmi and his associates, including Haroun Ramadan and Haade Ramadan, Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) Temple Chapter President Rishi Arun and several others, regularly lead marches and other events that cross the line of acceptable behavior. Notable examples of this are the “Dis-Orientation Rally” that took place at Philadelphia’s Temple University campus on 29th August 2024, in which the protesters targeted a Jewish student community building for harassment and a march on July 4th 2024 in which the group decided to mark US Independence Day by burning the American flag.
