Becky Havivi, a 2013 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, has established herself as an extremist, deeply involved in protests and events that can be described as pro-Hamas, antisemitic and even anti-American. She is currently affiliated with the controversial organizations IfNotNow (INN), a “Jewish” group bent of taking down the Jewish way of life. Havivi has garnered attention for her provocative methods and actions that many consider to be inflammatory and radical.
Becky Havivi’s Multiple Arrests
Havivi was arrested in 2016 alongside other INN activists for staging a disruptive “liberation seder” in the lobby of the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) building in Manhattan. This act, which involved slandering a sacred Jewish ritual, was designed to protest what Havivi and her group claimed were the ADL stance. . The arrest underscored a pattern in Havivi’s activism—utilizing confrontational and controversial methods to promote her agenda. She was again arrested in 2018 in Washington D.C. when she showed up a U.S. Senator’s office to protest him.
Her Self-Hating Antisemitic Stance
Beyond her arrests, Havivi has been linked to efforts that cross the line between advocacy and extremism. She has coordinated events that repurpose Jewish traditions, often twisting their meanings to fit her narrative. Her participation in a training session featured speakers who propagated divisive rhetoric, such as linking Jewish institutions to systemic Islamophobia. These events frequently feature inflammatory claims that alienate broader communities and stir tension.
Havivi has also sought international engagement in her activism, including raising funds to attend protests and activist trips abroad to the West Bank. These trips, often framed as opportunities for collaboration, have drawn criticism for their associations with terrorist organizations like Hamas. Her controversial actions and statements, both online and offline, have painted a troubling picture of an activist willing to cross boundaries of respectful discourse, often to the detriment of community cohesion and dialogue.
