Marc Lamont Hill

Many would expect former CNN employee and Columbia University professors Marc Lamont Hill to be a positive leader. He’s quite the opposite. He was fired from CNN in 2018 for alluding to the destruction of Israel, has blamed Israel for Hamas’ crimes against Israel on October 7th and has referred to Leila Khaled, a Palestinian terrorists responsible for numerous hijackings as a hero.

Actions and Statements

The racist, anti-semitic and anti-American actions and statements made by Hill have been numerous throughout the years. Not only does he align himself with corrupt leaders like Louis Farrakhan, but also with terrorist organizations like Hamas.

  • Celebration of Violence: Hill romanticized rock-throwing as “popular resistance,” downplaying its violent implications.
  • Condemnation of Non-Violence: In a public forum, he criticized non-violent protests, suggesting a preference for more aggressive forms of resistance.
  • Justification of Violence in Protests: He suggested that violence, including property destruction, is a legitimate way to gain attention for social issues.
  • Glorification of Terrorism: Hill posted a mural of Marwan Barghouti, a convicted terrorist responsible for multiple deaths, praising it as “Art as Resistance.”
  • Associating with Terrorism: Hill aligned himself with Leila Khaled, a terrorist known for hijackings, advocating for a similar approach to resistance against Israel.
  • Support for Terrorists: Hill expressed support for PFLP member Ali Jiddah multiple times, including promoting a GoFundMe campaign for him as a “true revolutionary.” Hill labeled Rasmea Odeh, a convicted terrorist involved in bombings, as a “Palestinian freedom fighter” and defended her against immigration fraud charges.
  • Promotion of PFLP Ideology: His involvement in film projects that feature PFLP members and ideologies indicates a continued endorsement of their narrative.

Conclusion

Marc Lamont Hill’s repeated endorsements of violence and alignment with terrorist figures reflect a troubling disregard for the impact of his rhetoric. Such actions not only undermine his credibility as a leader but also contribute to the perpetuation of harmful narratives surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
