Since the start of the war in Gaza, Temple University student Tasniem Abadalla has taken a hard stance in simultaneously supporting Palestine and the downfall of Israeli society. Being a fixture at such protests, she can often be found leading an aggressive chant of anti-Israel sentiments.
Background: Hamas Terrorist Attacks
On October 7, 2023, Hamas, a US-designated terrorist organization, launched a brutal attack on Israeli civilians, resulting in the deaths of over 1,200 people, with many more wounded and kidnapped. In response, Israel initiated Operation “Swords of Iron” to combat Hamas.
Tasniem Abadalla’s Actions and Statements
Tasniem Abadalla was spotted leading chants at a rally by City Hall, which saw a large number of individuals calling for the ethnic cleansing of Jews and damaging city property, including the statue a of Benjamin Franklin. The City Hall gathering was the first part of the Philly Palestine Coalition’s march, it continued to march two miles to Drexel and the University of Pennsylvania’s campuses
